Kirkland Council appoints Shelley Kloba for Position No. 2

At its April 16, 2013 Regular Meeting, the Kirkland City Council unanimously appointed North Juanita resident Shelley Kloba to City Council Position No. 2.  Kloba has lived in Kirkland for over 11 years and is currently the Legislative Director of the Washington Parent Teacher Association.  She has served on Kirkland’s Park Board since 2009 and is a trustee on the Lake Washington Schools Foundation.  She is employed at The Donaldson Clinic Physical Therapy.   Kloba will serve until the 2013 November General election results are certified.  She will be given the official Oath of Office by the City Clerk on May 1.  A ceremonial Oath of Office will be held at the May 7, 2013 Regular Council meeting.

If Kloba runs for election in November and wins, she will continue to serve.  If another person is elected to Position No. 2, the person elected will take office when the election is certified and would serve the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends December 31, 2015.
