The Seattle Metro chapter of Women's Council of Realtors is holding a fund raising Masquerade Gala October 27th at the Bellevue Arts Museum benefiting Solid Ground. A Seattle nonprofit, Solid Ground; specifically Brettler Family Place in Northeast Seattle, currently houses 50 families near Magnuson Park. This event aims to raise funds and awareness for the hundreds of displaced women and children living in Seattle. The Gala will include a night of fun with live music by At Five Music, dancing, a no host bar, appetizers and light desserts. There will be museum access, mask and costume contests, as well as a raffle for gourmet gift baskets.
Women's Council of Realtors is the twelfth largest US women’s professional organization and has one of the most successful communication networks in the National Association of Realtors® Family. Chapters include real estate professionals who support WCR’s objectives and are interested in serving the industry, the community, and fellow Realtors. The local Seattle chapter strives to raise funding for scholarships to help our members pursue leadership opportunities and education.
This year we are teaming up with Solid Ground and the Brettler Family Place, in order to help other women and their families empower themselves through housing, resources, and education. The Brettler Family Place offers 52 permanent housing units for homeless families with children under age 18. Families receive onsite supportive case management services, resources, and referrals. They also offer classes for both children and adults focusing on employment, increasing education, English language skills, parenting and financial fitness. They have an incredibly high success rate of helping women obtain employment or disability income and ultimately permanent housing! They are part of the Solid Ground Non-Profit Organization. www.solidground.org
Women's Council of Realtors of Seattle is proud to put on this benefit and we hope to continue fundraising for the homeless on an annual basis. Please join us to continue these efforts!
