Kirkland City Council to Consider Purchase of Rail Corridor at December 12 Meeting

During a Study Session to be held on Monday, December 12, the Kirkland City Council will consider the purchase of 5.5 miles of the Eastside Rail Corridor that lies within Kirkland City limits, known as the “Kirkland Segment” from the Port of Seattle. Detailed information will be presented at the Study Session, which begins at 6 p.m. The Council will formally consider a Purchase and Sale Agreement during the Regular Meeting which begins at 7:30 p.m. The proposed Agreement is for the purchase of the corridor, formerly owned by Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad, between 108th Avenue NE and Slater Avenue NE (132nd Place NE) for $5 million.
