The Kirkland Police Department is investigating an alleged assault on a woman which occurred at a restaurant in downtown Kirkland early Sunday morning, August 8, 2011. Passersby report that police cordoned off the area for much of the day and removed five bags of sealed "evidence" from the establishment. We contacted KPD for details.

The Kirkland Police Department responded just after 5:00 am Sunday morning to a 911 call in the 100 block of Central Avenue. A female called reporting that she had been assaulted in a nearby business earlier that morning. The Kirkland Police Department Investigations Unit is conducting the investigation and has identified two males who may have been involved. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
