After a thorough interview process, long-time City employee Ray Steiger, has been promoted by the position of Director of Public Works for the City of Kirkland. Steiger has been the Interim Public Works Director, since the resignation of Daryl Grigsby in February 8, 2010.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Washington State University in 1984, Steiger worked in Seattle and Fontana, California before coming to Kirkland. His is a familiar face around town as he has been with the City since 1989. He often can be seen in chambers presenting to the City Council. He is highly regarded and considered an excellent choice for Director of Public Works.
