The Slip is one of those gems you find when traveling, visiting a new town and something about it makes you stop and take a second look. Something just draws you in. Maybe it's the quirky little building. Maybe it's the location, which couldn't be better -- at the doorstep to Marina Park. Maybe it's the large outdoor dining area under the old willow tree which is filled to capacity on warm summer nights. Maybe it is the waft the burgers cooking that pulls you in. Or maybe it's the cocktails.
Of course, once inside, you'll find room enough for six people as The Slip is the state's smallest full service restaurant. Hint: outside is where the action is.
Have you heard all of this before? Of course. We just want to remind you that The Slip is still here and it is still going strong despite the HUGE For Sale signs plastered all over this little burger shack. For the record: only the building is for sale, not the business. There is some confusion around town and we just wanted to help set the record straight.
Next time you slide on into The Slip, check out their Peanut Butter Burger. I double dog dare you. Like many of you, it caught my eye over the years, but I never had the guts to try it (I would be remiss if I didn't mention that my wife's a fan of the salmon burger, which is also good, despite the fact that it doesn't come slathered in peanut butter). A recent visit changed all of that. I ordered the PBB and washed it down with an order of fries. Needless to say, it was amazing. Our friends at the table looked on with bewilderment. Only two of the eight in our party were brave enough to take a bite and they loved it too. So I am now a fan of their Peanut Butter Burger. And I have the gut to prove it. Time to get some exercise.
Visit The Slip. You'll be glad you did.

A bank…we never found the safe.
Several eateries: a fish n chips place, taco stand, breakfast bar, and maybe a few more...
