The acclaimed Mark Morris Dance Group returns to Evergreen Hospital Medical Center at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 22, to host a Dance for Parkinson’s workshop. The 1 ½ hour class is free for people with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers. It is presented by the Booth Gardner Parkinson’s Care Center at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center, Seattle Theatre Group and the Spectrum Dance Company.
Dancing opens new vistas for Parkinson’s patients, even those who have lost some motor skills. The movements stretch and strengthen muscles. Participants are taught how just moving their eyes, ears and touch can improve their body control.
Class size is limited and pre-registration is required. Call the Evergreen Healthline at 425-899-3000 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday or register online 24/7 at www.evergreenhospital.org/classes. Class location will be given upon registration.
Parking, as always, is free at Evergreen. The hospital is located at 12040 NE 128th Street, Kirkland.
