Marsh Park drowning victim investigation underway by Kirkland Police


On Saturday, February 27 at about 4:00 p.m. a body was found floating in Lake Washington 15 yards off shore from Marsh Park. At the time, news reports incorrectly stated that the victim was a 35 -year-old male.

Since the initial reports, there has been little new information to release. According to the Kirkland Police Department, the body found was that of a 42-year-old Kirkland man. The cause of death has been determined to be drowning. There was no indication of foul play. Family members have been notified.

The Kirkland Police Department has an on-going investigation. Originally, King County was investigating the case, however, when the victim was identified to be a Kirkland resident, the case was handed over to Kirkland Police Department.
