Get into the spirit of recycling by trading your old Halloween costumes for ones that are new-to-you at the City of Kirkland’s first Halloween costume swap.
To participate, first donate costumes, masks, and accessories at Kirkland City Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week of October 3rd to 7th. A collection bin will be in the lobby of City Hall. Gently worn costumes of all sizes - from baby to adult - will be accepted. Items should be clean and in good, wearable condition (e.g. no broken zippers, no unintentional rips or holes).
Then, complete the swap by selecting a donated costume at Heritage Hall from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 8th. Costumes not selected at the event will be donated to a local non-profit organization.
Reduce your environmental impact and save money by choosing a gently worn costume instead of buying a new one. Wearing used costumes reduces the resources that would be needed to create, package, and transport new costumes.
The City of Kirkland is hosting this costume swap to facilitate costume exchange between members of the community and encourage reuse.
