THE 50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BEATLES 8/25/1966 LAST INVASION OF SEATTLE TO BE RECREATED LIVE AT SEATTLE CENTER MURAL AMPHITHEATER WITH SEATTLE BAND CRÈME TANGERINE ON 8/25/2016
The Beatles’ historic concert on the Seattle Center campus in 1966 to be performed by Crème Tangerine, at Seattle Center’s Mural Amphitheater , Thursday, August 25th, 2016 at 7:00pm – (exactly 50 years to the date, time, and place of the Beatle’s Seattle appearance). All ages and free to the public.
Seattle’s favorite Beatles cover band, Crème Tangerine and The Seattle Center are teaming up to recreate one of the city’s milestonepop culture events when Crème Tangerine produces and performs the Fab Four’s 1966 Seattle concert note for note and in it’s entirely to celebrate this iconic moment in the city’s rock history. Crème Tangerine will perform the entire setlist from that concert in order, along with many other Fab Four favorites to mark this anniversary and celebrate the influence the Beatles have had on music in the Northwest for over 50 years. The Beatles 1966 Seattle concert was performed on the Seattle Center campus (Coliseum -now Key Arena). The concert by Crème Tangerine will be free, all ages, open to the public, and willtake place on the Seattle Center campus at the Mural Amphitheater on Thursday, August 25th, 2016 at 7:00 pm – the exact day/time/minute/ that The Beatle’s Seattle performance took place at the Seattle Center in 1966.
The 1966 Beatle’s concert was the band’s second visit to Seattle following their celebrated 1964 concert. The ’66 concert would be their final visit to Seattle as The Beatles stopped touring that year. The Seattle concert would also prove to be the second to the last concert they ever performed live.
“It will be so exciting to see the Seattle Center Mural Amphitheater grounds packed shoulder to shoulder with people celebrating the music of the Beatles exactly 50 years to the minute and location of when and where the Beatles visited our city for the last time – this music truly is a common bond people share together”, states Byron Prather, lead singer of Crème Tangerine. “We look forward to this show being a moment this summer to celebrate this timeless music! We’re going to perform this fun event for free in Seattle to give people a reason to take a moment to rock out, smile, and have a lot of fun celebrating the Beatles. We hope people will come out and enjoy it all!”
The performance will highlight the hunger relief work of Northwest Harvest. Northwest Harvest will be on hand to receive canned food and donations in their work to battle hunger.
