Kirkland Planning Commission meetings now televised; available to stream

The City of Kirkland Planning Commission meetings are now available to watch live and rebroadcast on cable TV and can be streamed through the City’s website.  The Planning Commission meetings will now be videotaped, live broadcast and streamed in the same way as City Council meetings.  Kirkland residents who subscribe to cable TV can view the meetings on the City’s KGOV station: Comcast Channel 21 and Frontier Channel 31.  To stream the meeting live or to replay through “on demand,” go to the Planning Commission webpage and search “Planning Commission Meetings Online.” The Planning Commission meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 7 p.m., Kirkland City Hall, Council Chamber.  Programming schedules are available on the City’s website at and search KGOV TV Guide.
The Commission conducted its first public meeting on January 8, 2015.  Previously, Planning Commission meetings have been audio recorded only during the meeting and were then made available to the public.  The availability of televised and streaming allows the public to have easy access to the content of the Commission meetings as it is happening.
The Planning Commission advises the City Council on all matters relating to the Kirkland Comprehensive Plan and land use regulations. The Planning Commission is currently conducting review of proposed updates to the Comprehensive Plan, Citizen Amendment Requests, and Neighborhood Plans.
