Estately just published a study naming Washington's 20 best cities to raise kids. In it, Kirkland is ranked seventh on the list. The city is tied with Redmond for the top public schools and it has the third lowest crime rate, the third most daycare facilities and the fourth most parks per capita. Kirkland also has the second most expensive housing market.
The study ranks Washington's 20 most populated cities based on the following criteria: the size of the youth population, the mean work commute, the number of preschools per capita, the quality of public education, crime per capita, the number of libraries per capita, the number of public parks per capita, housing affordability, daycare per capita and the cost of living.
