Kirkland City Council is a non-partisan position. Are you a member of a political party – if so, with which party is you registered? I am not registered with any party but I consider myself a Democrat

How would you describe your political views? Progressive

Why have you chosen to live in Kirkland?

I chose to live In Kirkland because of the quality of life here.  I enjoy living here because of all the amenities including parks, public safety, the arts and the support for human services.

What do you hope to achieve, if elected to the City Council in 2009?

I would hope to achieve an improved economic climate for Kirkland, with development concentrated in Totem Lake and Downtown and not in the neighborhoods, and to help transform the Council into a productive team, leading to a vibrant well functioning process for  setting public policy where all voices are heard.

You are asking the people of Kirkland for our vote. Why should we vote for you?

You should vote for me because one of my strengths is cutting through complexity and finding the most efficient pathways from problems to solutions. Today, Kirkland faces new and complex challenges, particularly with the budget shortfall, possible annexations and the hiring of the next City Manager.  I believe my experience will be an asset to the City Council as they set public policy.
