Welcome to Kirkland Views. News. Perspectives. Community.
We are dedicated to promoting the City of Kirkland and to providing the news and events often overlooked by our local newspapers.
We are a hyper-local news source dedicated to fostering community involvement in the issues facing Kirkland today.
Kirkland is a very special place. We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world with spectacular parks, excellent schools and a passionate community. The sense of community we share is truly unique. Out of town guests often remind us that we in Kirkland truly do share a high quality of life.
Like most communities, we sometimes struggle when faced with the challenges of population growth, development, infrastructure and transportation. We are best served when we know the facts and we can respectfully discuss our differences to find common ground as a community.
That is why we started Kirkland Views.

We are a voice for the community. We welcome your comments, letters and editorials. We’re human and from time to time we make mistakes. When we do, we’ll admit it. At the end of the day, we love what we do and we feel a real sense of responsibility to our community. Thanks for your support and please let us know how we’re doing at moc.sweivdnalkriknull@rotide.
What makes Kirkland Views unique?
- We are an independent, locally-owned daily news source for Kirkland;
- We don’t send our profits out of state. Our business model does not involve taking money from local advertisers and then sending profits to corporate headquarters in New York (AOL Patch) or Canada (Black Press Reporter).
- We are a local business.
Our competitors simply cannot say the same.

In the past, serious issues with profound impact on our city have gone all but unnoticed by our local press. In April of 2008, Kirkland Views opened its doors so to speak, and we have been growing by leaps and bounds ever since.
Kirkland Views is proud to have become a “must read” for all things happening in town. We invite you to join our online community and to speak your mind.
Our goal is to always be an asset to the community. We are here to help make Kirkland a better place in which to live, work and play. We aim to inform, promote and even provoke thought about the issues facing us all.
Rob Butcher, editor of Kirkland Views and life-long resident of the Eastside lives with his wife Kate and Molly the dog in the Norkirk neighborhood. Rob has served on the City’s Downtown Advisory Committee and on the Board of the Norkirk Neighborhood Association. His perspectives on the issues are shared in his editorials and in his comments posted on these pages.
