Homeowner interrupts the crime and helps Officers locate the suspects

On 11-20-2013 at 10:09 am, a Houghton Neighborhood homeowner called 9-1-1 to report that he had returned home and interrupted a burglary.  The homeowner reported that he found two adult men in his house that he did not know. The suspects left the home and the homeowner was able to follow them, without the suspects being aware, as he reported their location to 9-1-1 dispatchers.  Officers arrived in the area within 3 minutes and quickly took the two males into custody without incident. The homeowner identified the males as the suspects who had entered his home without his permission.  A Bellevue Police Department K-9 unit assisted with a “backtrack” for evidence and located items from the victims residence as well as items believed to have been used by the suspects to force entry into the home.

Both suspects were booked into the Kirkland Jail on Residential Burglary charges and this case has been forwarded to the Kirkland P.D. Detective Unit for additional investigation and follow-up.
