Kirkland Garden Tour, June 29

Garden2 Tour five of Kirkland’s beautiful gardens, each one unique from the other. Included is a garden that illustrates the creative way to maximize a steep slope; a compact in-city garden that includes a large variety of plants interspersed with garden art; another is a secret treasure of paths among a fairyland of plants hidden on one of Kirkland’s busy streets; another is a long narrow lot loved by its owners who have created paths, streams, magical areas for grandchildren and art created by the owner; and a garden with a mix of established plants from its 1956 origin and wonderful new foliage.  Homeowners, master gardeners, docents and members from Kirkland Wildlife Habitat Team will be available to answer questions.

Tickets: $15. Online at Brownpapertickets.com or day of event, cash or charge. Tickets and garden tour guide will be available at Historic Forbes House across Juanita Dr. from Juanita Beach starting at 9:30.

Staff from City of Kirkland’s demonstration rain garden next to Forbes House will answer questions about creating a rain garden.
