Kirkland’s Park Board seeks youth member

The City of Kirkland seeks a youth member for a vacancy on its Park Board.  The Park Board provides advice and assistance to the Department of Parks and Community Services and to the City Council to ensure programs and facilities meet the needs of Kirkland residents.  Applicants must reside within the City of Kirkland; be a sophomore or junior by September of the appointment year, and be under the age of 18. The Park Board’s 2013-2014 Work Plan includes, among many tasks, updating the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan, developing Master Plans for Totem Lake and Edith Moulton Parks, and developing renovation plans for Waverly Beach, Spinney Homestead and Terrace Parks. The Park Board meets at 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month.
