Residential Recycling Collection Event, Oct 13

The City of Kirkland is hosting a residential recycling event on Saturday, October 13 at Lake Washington High School Parking Lot from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Kirkland residents can bring a variety of reusable and recyclable materials. View the event flyer.

  • Scrap metal and appliances
  • Fluorescent bulbs & tubes (limit 10 bulbs/tubes per participant)
  • Paper shredding
  • Electronic equipment and computer peripherals (printers, fax machines, scanners, mice, DVD players, VCRs, cell phones)
  • Lead acid batteries, alkaline batteries
  • Mattresses & box springs -$10/each (cash only) 
  • Motor oil/oil Filters/antifreeze
  • Styrofoam™ (polystyrene)
  • Textiles and reusable household goods
  • Tires
  • Cardboard
  • Propane tanks - $5/each (cash only)
  • Small camping stove tanks -$1/each (cash only)
  • Porcelain sinks & toilets -$10/each (cash only)
  • Refrigerators/freezers/household air conditioners - $25/each (cash only)

*Kirkland single family residents can recycle electronics at the curb. Call Waste Management at 1-800-592-9995 to schedule a pickup

Household Hazardous Waste

  • Chemical cleaning products
  • Wood and yard debris
  • Household chemicals
  • Pesticides
  • Solvents and thinners
  • No latex or oil-based paint

Except for latex paint, these household hazardous wastes can be disposed of at the King County Wastemobile, the North Seattle Hazardous Waste Shed, or Factoria Hazardous Waste site Thursday through Sunday.  For tips on latex paint disposal, click here.
