Kirkland's Sewer Pump Station (unofficial) construction update: One year down. Two more years to go.

Are you tired of seeing the endless construction at the sewer pump station near the downtown Kirkland transit center?  Never fear, the end is in sight. The project was started in the summer of 2011 and has two more years to go.

For comparison, construction began on the Juanita Bay Pump Station in fall 2005 and was completed early 2009.

These are obviously complex and challenging construction projects which take time to build.

On a completely unrelated subject, here is a fun fact: the 103-story Empire State Building was built in just over 13 months.
