Popular Seattle Restaurant Expands to Eastside Location
After finding award winning success with their restaurant Volterra in Seattle, Washington, Chef Don Curtiss and Managing Partner Michelle Quisenberry are pleased to announce the grand opening of their second location in Kirkland, Washington. Providing the Eastside with a new experience in Tuscan-inspired cuisine, Volterra – Kirkland offers a more modern and sophisticated offshoot to the restaurant’s original Ballard location.
Situated at 121 Kirkland Avenue, the debut of Volterra – Kirkland will be celebrated on Monday, September 10th, when Curtiss and Quisenberry proudly unveil the space to the public. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with Kirkland officials, family and friends will take place at 11:00 am, during which time VIP’s will have the opportunity to experience the space and sample some of the restaurants’ highly anticipated menu items.
Superior ingredients are the building blocks to Chef Curtiss’ menu which offers several Volterra favorites such as, Oil Soup- named one of Seattle’s Legendary Dishes by Seattle Metropolitan Magazine, Wild Boar Tenderloin with Gorgonzola Mustard Sauce- the dish Rachael Ray has named one of her favorite on the planet, Fontina filled Polenta Custard with Wild Mushroom and Truffle Ragu, 16 oz free Range Veal Chop and an extensive selection of house-made pastas ranging in price from $17-$22. Extensive gluten free options are available including house-made gluten free pasta. Volterra- Kirkland will be open for dinner nightly from 5pm-11pm and will begin happy hour, lunch service and their highly popular Sunday Brunch beginning in October
“Michelle and I are so excited to be a part of the Eastside community and pleased to serve many of our loyal customers who live in the area. The downtown Kirkland setting is an ideal location and affords us the opportunity to provide diners with the same Volterra dining experience as our Seattle location, without the hassle of dealing with traffic, bridges and tolls,” stated Curtiss.
In addition to a contemporary and comfortable bar/lounge area with a signature cocktail menu developed by Kathy Casey, Volterra-Kirkland’s 2,500 sq. foot interior also includes an elegant main dining room with seating for up to 55 diners, featured art by upcoming and prominent local artists including 4 vibrant drawings by renowned artist Dale Chihuly, a Murano glass and Swarovski crystal Chandelier in the entryway, a custom designed wine wall, an open kitchen and a chef’s counter with seating for up to six guests. Legendary DJ and music industry tastemaker Marco Collins curated Volterra's music to create a current yet relaxed ambiance.
Since its opening in April 2005, Volterra has been hailed “the city’s toughest reservation” by Bon Appetit magazine and has received the “Wine Spectator Award of Excellence” each year since its opening. Volterra has been included in Zagat’s “America’s Top Restaurants”, has been named “Best New Restaurant” and “Best Italian Restaurant” by Seattle Magazine, and received the title “Best Chef Inspired Restaurant” by Seattle Metropolitan Magazine, and “Best Southern Italian Food” by the Seattle Weekly.
