Kirkland Police Explorers Take Top Honors at National Conference

 

The Kirkland Police Department’s (KPD) Explorers Team placed first in one of many competitions the team participated in at the National Law Enforcement Exploring Conference held in Ft. Collins, Colorado July 16-21, 2012.  The team took top honors in the Crime Prevention scenario and came close to placing first in the Domestic Violence Investigation exercise.  KPD Explorers Brianna Eggleston, Jeffery Pope, Elizabeth Luksetich, Evelyn Guerra, Luke Olsen and Jesse Dimak participated in seminars as well as the team and individual competitions. They participated with over 4,500 Explorers from across the United States including Puerto Rico.

 

“In five days of seminars, as well as 12 separate team competition scenario’s, KPD Explorers set themselves apart from their competitors,” notes Lt. Mike Murray.  “They were the ambassadors of the Kirkland Police Department and represented the City of Kirkland with great honor and we are all very proud of them and their accomplishments.”
