Kirkland Police Attempt Warrant Service on Assault Suspect

The Kirkland Police Department responded to Evergreen Hospital just after 11:00 pm last night to speak to a victim who called after being assaulted outside a residence located in the 13300 blk of 105th Ave Ne.  The suspect, who is known to the victim, struck the victim in the head with a firearm which also caused the firearm to discharge without striking anyone.  The victim was able to flee the location and call the police.  Kirkland Police responded and an arrest and search warrant were later obtained for the suspect and residence.  The Kirkland Police Department Special Response Team and Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the location to execute the warrants.  Information led police to believe the suspect was still inside the location possibly hiding in a crawl space.  The out-buildings and residence were later searched and cleared.  Additional information came in suggesting the suspect may have been at a second location out of the city.  The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and provided the information on the second location.  Snohomish County Deputies were able to locate the suspect at this second location and take him into custody without issue. The suspect has prior felony convictions and faces Assault II charges.
