Kirkland City Council passes watercraft and public disturbance regulations

On Tuesday night the Kirkland City Council passed a watercraft noise ordinance O-4356 limiting noise on the water to 300 feet from the source. The Council voted 6-1 in favor of an amended version of an ordinance which had originally included a limitation on noise "audible greater than fifty feet from the source."

The amended ordinance which passed was an attempt to find a compromise to address the concerns of both boaters and property owners.
