The Kirkland Wednesday Farmers Market season begins next week on Park Lane in Downtown
The Kirkland Wednesday Market (KWM) season has been extended this year due to popular demand. The 2012 season for the farmers market in downtown Kirkland runs from May 16th through October 17th.
As they are opening earlier in the season, not all farming vendors will be in attendance, and many will be arriving in mid/early June with their fresh berries and tree fruit.
To give all local artists a chance to meet and participate in the market fully, KWM is bringing all artists in for the first 4 weeks or so, and will be putting them on a rotation schedule once all the farmers arrive. This means that the market will open with the appearance of being extremely craft/artist heavy, but that will change as the season warms up.
The market will be welcoming back some of the community's favorite farmers such as
- 5 Acre Farm
- Bill's Fruits
- Martin Family Orchard; and
- Collins Family Orchard.
Some of the most popular artists will be returning also, like Arturo Torrez Photography, The Gem Garden, Lisa Boyce Designs, and more.
Other returning favorites include: Seattle Bagel Co., La Pasta, Ia’s Garden, Lillie de Vallee to name a few.
This season the market is also welcoming some new vendors. Two new farmers will be on hand, so to speak -- Hand Farmed Organics, a local farm from Fall City with fabulous row crops and Harmony Fields, from Bow, Washington.
Also, at the Market this year is Fancy Free Gluten-Free Bakery, Black Sheep Creamery, G & G Dogs, and Veraci Pizza.
Many Kirklanders may recall Veraci Pizza at the Market in years past. Back by popular demand, the well-known pizza pie purveyor will be back for the 2012 season. Stop by and welcome them back!
