Night time work for pedestrian improvements on 85th St at I-405

From Monday, April 9 – Friday, April 19, construction crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will make pedestrian accessibility improvements to the I-405/NE 85th Street interchange in Kirkland.

To minimize daytime traffic delays, the construction will take place during overnight hours. Residents who live near the highway may hear vehicle backup alarms, concrete saw-cutters and jackhammers.

Minimizing noise during night work

Construction noise can affect nearby residents and businesses, and WSDOT does their best to reduce nighttime noise. Crews will install temporary noise shields, and use trucks with bed liners and secured tailgates that don’t bang.

Whenever possible, crews will complete the noisiest work before 10 p.m.

Construction closures

Drivers should expect nighttime lane and ramp closures during construction. For the most current closure information, please visit:
