Washington State Science & Engineering Fair Seeks Judges

SCIENCE & ENGINEERING FAIR SEEKS JUDGES

The 55th Annual Washington State Science and Engineering Fair will be held on the campus of Bremerton High School on Friday March 30, 2012 and Saturday March 31, 2012. The fair is open to all students in grades 1 through 12.

Over 400 students attended last year. Coming to the Fair again this year is a Science Film Fest on Friday and Saturday, admission is free. To ensure a successful fair we need over 200 volunteers and judges.

This year we have nearly 500 students preregistered and only 150 judges for Saturday.

We need judges from all fields, categories with 10 or more students:

  • Behavioral and Social Science
  • Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
  • Energy and Transportation
  • Environmental Management
  • Medicine and Health Sciences
  • Physics and Astronomy

Volunteering to judge at the Washington State Science and Engineering Fair is a rewarding and uplifting experience that is best seen when a participant is presenting his/her science project and realizing someone understands and cares about their efforts.

Students across the state of Washington are making amazing discoveries and making the world better around them. The Washington State Science and Engineering Fair provides these terrific students a forum to show case their work and earn more than $1,000,000 in scholarships, opportunities and prizes. In 2009, a Washington State student earned "Best in the World ~ Earth & Planetary Sciences" and a trip to CERN Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland. All made possible by people like you volunteering to judge at the Washington State Science and Engineering Fair.

By judging, you are giving encouragement and opportunities for our future scientists and engineers to grow and succeed. An added bonus is that Judges receive the opportunity to experience first-hand the interesting and innovative ideas giving you renewed faith in our future generation.

Judges training sessions will take at the fair.
