Kirkland Police Continue Homicide Investigation, Person of Interest is Joint Base Lewis-McChord Soldier

 

The Kirkland Police Department is confirming earlier reports that a 19-year old soldier stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord is a person of interest in the murder investigation of Scarlett Paxton.  Paxton died from a neck wound at her residence in Kirkland in the early morning of November 30, 2011.  The soldier has not been charged in Paxton’s murder and remains in custody at the Base for unrelated charges.  Kirkland Detectives are working cooperatively with military staff and continue to investigate all leads.  Detectives are also continuing to explore any link between the soldier and Scarlett Paxton.  Due to the confidentiality of the investigation, the soldier’s identity is not being released at this time.  For more information about this incident, please contact ­­­­­­­­­­­­­ Lieutenant Mike Murray, Kirkland Police Department at 425-587-3402 or mmurray@kirklandwa.gov.
