Lake Washington vs Liberty women's soccer game Wrap-Up

Liberty High School was undefeated and untied in league play when they arrived at Lake Washington High School on Thursday, September 22nd.  The Kangs knew they were in for a difficult match.

Liberty struck first as Cassidy Nangle hit a shot off an assist by Kimi Fry in the eighth minute.

Lake Washington answered with a goal which was set up by a set piece.  Cassie Lively placed the corner kick right in front of the box, ten yards out, where Emma Holm headed the ball on goal.  Liberty defender Shaniah Adriano saved a goal but cleared the ball into advancing Shelby Bergren who sent it back in. Adriano again cleared it but a charging Emily Bunnell finished it for the Kang goal.

The Kangs and Patriots battled with the scored tied until a miscleared ball landed in front of the goal in the path of alert Liberty forward Kiana Hafferty who, without hesitation, fired the ball into the net for the game-winning goal.

Lake Washington looks forward to traveling to Bellevue on Tuesday night to play the Wolverines at 7:30 p.m.
