Sections of six Kirkland streets have been or are scheduled to be resurfaced by Lakeside Industries. The following areas are affected:
98th Avenue NE in Juanita Village: The contractor will be closing the right-hand northbound lane of 98thAvenue NE from NE 116th Street to just beyond NE 120th Place to do concrete repair work starting 7:00am Friday, September 30 until 3:30 pm Monday, October 3. The weekend lane closure is necessary to provide adequate curing time for the concrete. Businesses and driveways to businesses will remain open throughout the weekend. The grinding, asphalt overlay and completion of the project is scheduled for the second week in October.
Lake Washington Boulevard from Carillon Point to southern City Limits: The grinding and asphalt overlay is scheduled for October 3rd through October 7th. The project is scheduled to be complete by the end of October.
- Nearly Complete: 111th Avenue NE from NE 48th Street to NE 53rd Street
- Complete: NE 52nd Street from of 108th Avenue NE to the railroad tracks
- Complete: Forbes Creek Drive
- Complete: 132nd Avenue NE between NE 100th Street and NE 85th Street
When: Many factors, including weather, could influence the schedule. Updated schedule information about each street is posted on the City’s Project Web Site. Typical hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.
What to Expect: At times, the contractor will be restricting parking along the roadway. “No-Parking” signs will be posted 24 hours in advance of all parking restrictions. There may be inconveniences driving through the work zone with one lane closures at times; traffic control and flagging operations may be in effect. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout the construction process.
