Norkirk-Highlands Picnic serves up hot dogs, watermelon and politicians (photos)

[nggallery id=167] Old-fashioned family fun was had by all at the 2011 Summer Picnic hosted by the Norkirk and Highlands Neighborhoods at Crestwoods Park on Saturday, August 27th. Along with the usual summertime hot dogs and watermelon, families enjoyed carnival games, arts and crafts, face painting, puppet shows and a dunk tank. Uptown Lowdown Jazz Band once again entertained the crowds with foot stomping music.

Appearances were made by Kirkland's Police and Fire units. We also spotted several local politicians running for office including:

Rep. Roger Goodman, running for U.S. Congress;

Kirkland City Councilmember Jessica Greenway running for re-election; and

Jason Gardiner running for Kirkland City Council.
