A Celebration of David Tucker's Life set for August 26

He was the sweetest, nicest man I ever met.

On Friday, Kirkland lost a longtime friend and benefactor when David Tucker, having been stricken with pneumonia, passed away in the loving arms of his wife Patty. The list of Kirklanders that are friends of the Tuckers is only bested by the number of those who have from their generosity. Through their charity, they have touched the lives of so many. If you did not have the good fortune to meet David and Patty over the years, chances are you have benefited from the helping hand they have given to Kirkland. Beyond David's service as a Rotarian, he and Patty were ever-present boosters for all things Kirkland including being members of the Greater Kirkland Chamber of Commerce since 1996. The charitable causes, events and good deeds performed by this couple truly is a testament to their love of our community.

Those of us who knew David were fortunate to have his friendship. One such friend eloquently expressed the sentiments held by so many of us in town when she simply said, "He was the sweetest, nicest man I ever met."

A celebration of David's life will be Friday, August 26th at 1:00pm at the Kirkland Performance Center, 350 Kirkland Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in David's name to Evergreen Hospital Foundation, 12040 NE 128th Street, Kirkland, WA 98033.

The following email from the Chamber was sent out on Saturday:

With a heavy heart and great sadness I am sending this email.  David Tucker, wonderful friend and long-time chamber member, passed away in the loving arms of his wife Patty yesterday.  A Memorial and Celebration of David’s life is scheduled for Friday, August 26 at the Kirkland Performance Center at 1pm.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Evergreen Hospital Medical Center in remembrance of David.

With great sadness,
