[nggallery id=164] The two best Junior League softball teams in the world faced off in the Championship Game of the 2011 Junior Softball World Series in Kirkland on Saturday, August 20, 2011 culminating a week long series with teams from across the globe.

The U.S. Central team from Croswell Lexington Little League in Croswell, Mich., bested the U.S. Southeast squad from Palma Ceia/West Tampa Little League of Tampa, Fla., by a score of 10-0 in five innings. The Championship Game was played at Kirkland's Everest Park.

ESPN crews were filming the game on ESPN2 and online at ESPN3.com.

Congratulations to all of the teams who made the trek to Kirkland for the chance to compete for the championship game.

The U.S. Central team from Croswell, Mich., jumped out to an early lead and never looked back en route to a 10-0 victory in the Championship Game of the 2011 Junior Softball World Series.

The Croswell Lexington Little League team scored four runs in the first inning and five more in the second against the Southeast team from Palma Ceia/West Tampa Little League of Tampa, Fla. The game was shortened due to Little League’s 10-run mercy rule.

Megan Guitar was the winning pitcher for Central, allowing just one hit over five innings. On offense Guitar drove in three runs, while teammate Kylee Barrett scored three times. Sadi Overland, Brooke Smith and Victoria Bender each contributed a pair of hits for the winners.

It was a tough loss for a Southeast team that had played exceptional softball all week. The Florida team went 3-1 in pool play and knocked off the Pool B first-place Southwest team in Friday’s semifinals.

Croswell Lexington went unbeaten throughout the World Series, going 4-0 in pool play and edging the U.S. East team, 3-2, in their semifinal matchup.

Congratulations to the winners as well as the runners-up for a terrific World Series.
