Election Results: Asher and Gardiner maintain leads in votes with 25.83% counted

There were no significant moves on Thursday as King County Elections released preliminary results with 25.83% of the primary election ballots counted. The races for Kirkland City Council have incumbent Kirkland City Councilmember Dave Asher receiving the most votes for Position 6 with 53.04% of the vote, Jim Hart is in second place with 25.19% and Martin Morgan in third place with 21.30%.

The race for Kirkland City Council Position 2 has Jason Gardiner holding onto his narrow lead over incumbent Kirkland City Councilmember Bob Sternoff by a margin of 48.16%  to 46.03%.  Chuck Hinson who dropped out of the race received 5.26% of the vote.

As a reminder, the top two candidates in each race will be on the ballot in the November General Election.
