SeattlePI.com is reporting details on an alleged rape in downtown Kirkland which took place August 7. On that day we reported that police had cordoned off the entrance to an Italian restaurant overlooking Marina Park.
Police searched a Kirkland restaurant earlier this month as part of a rape investigation and recovered a pink bra, a pair of women's shoes and a strand of hair.
However, the case is still being investigated and charges haven't been filed.
About 5:15 a.m. Aug. 7, police received a call from a crying woman asking for help, saying she'd been raped near the 100 block of Central Way in Kirkland, according to investigators. The woman, in her late 20s, had difficulty speaking.
The woman described being raped by two men – one older and one younger – at an Italian restaurant near a hair salon. An officer suspected the business was Amici, an Italian restaurant that opened earlier this year at 7 Lakeshore Plaza.
