Election Results: Asher and Gardiner lead in votes with 21.73% counted

With 21.73% of the primary election ballots counted, the races for Kirkland City Council have incumbent Kirkland City Councilmember Dave Asher receiving the most votes for Position 6 with 52.08% of the vote, Jim Hart is in second place with 25.89% and Martin Morgan in third place with 21.48%.

The race for Kirkland City Council Position 2 has Jason Gardiner holding onto his narrow lead over incumbent Kirkland City Councilmember Bob Sternoff with 47.87%  to 45.87%.  Chuck Hinson who dropped out of the race received 5.62% of the vote.

As a reminder, the top two candidates in each race will be on the ballot in the November General Election.
