Occupation: I have been a small business owner for 25 years: Financial Planner and Investment Advisor. 1. WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE IN THE CITY YOU WOULD ADDRESS IF ELECTED?
Making annexation successful for all of Kirkland.
2. WHAT OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES WOULD YOU ADDRESS IF ELECTED?

1.  Public Safety:  Maintain Kirkland's high standards of public safety with adequate funding and staffing.

2.  Fiscal Responsibility:  Continue my record of fiscal responsibility by championing responsible tax policies, promoting value for your tax dollar, maintaining a sustainable budget, advocating for responsible spending that meets citizen needs.

3.  Economic Development: promote a thriving business environment that creates jobs; provide services to retain existing Kirkland businesses.

4.  Government Responsiveness: listen to, respond to, and work for citizens.

5.  Environmental Stewardship: support parks and green space, protect natural resources, encourage green practices, promote transportation choices, keep Kirkland walkable and bikeable.

3. WHAT MAKES YOU THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR THIS OFFICE?
I am the best candidate for this postion because of my experience, dedication, and independence. I have a record of serving Kirkland citizens for more than 20 years: 2 terms on the Kirkland City Council, the Planning Commission, the Park Board, neighborhood associations, and numerous citizen and community committees and task forces. I am a financial expert because of my professional background and my experience developing many Kirkland budgets and I know how to develop a sustainable budget that will continue Kirkland's long history of financial responsibility. I have the experience and commitment to make annexation successful and to keep the promises we made to Kirkland citizens and citizens of the annexation area. I have proven that I encourage citizen input, I listen to citizens, and I am committed to representing them. I love Kirkland, it is my home. I have worked hard to preserve our community character and I will continue to do that.
