[nggallery id=146] The 11th season of the Kirkland Wednesday Market opened under rainy skies today with a ribbon cutting ceremony lead by Mayor Joan McBride and the voices of the children of Bright Horizons Day Care singing such classics as "Ooples and Banoonoos."
On hand for the event was a who's who of downtown merchants and folks from City Hall including former Kirkland mayor Bill Woods, Kirkland City Manager Kurt Triplett, Mayor Joan McBride, Councilmembers Dave Asher, Bob Sternoff and Amy Walen.
This year the market is in a new location on Park Lane in downtown Kirkland. The market vendors fill the street with fresh produce, flowers, tomato plants, shave ice, kettle corn and much, much more. The market is open each Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. now through September 28th.
