The public is invited to a special concert, Music for Life, on Sunday, May 15, that will benefit Kadee Scott, a Kirkland native who received a kidney transplant in November after suffering from complete kidney failure due to Lupus. After waiting for four and a half years, a friend of Scott’s offered to donate a kidney. After a series of tests doctors were able to confirm that her friend was a perfect match. Scott’s mother, Donna Raymond is organizing the benefit.
“Music for Life” will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church which is located at 105 State Street in downtown Kirkland. Doors open at 2:00p.m.
Groups performing at this event include the women’s accapella chorus, The Spirit of Sound Singers, the Inglemoor Wind Trio, Mike Dadaro and Diane Althaus and the local Christian group Steadfast.
Admission is free, but donations are gladly accepted.
Donations received will go to the National Transplant Assistance Fund, the leader in fundraising assistance and support for transplant and catastrophic injury.
Contributions are tax-deductable.
