In the woods just south of the High Woodlands Community Park (near 148th court cul-de-sac), Kirkland Fire Department responded to a report of a tree fire on Saturday, April 2nd..  The department was fighting the fire by 5:30pm.

The fire may have been started, as many red firecrackers were found near the base of the tree.  The large growth tree is situated near a small creek bridge, part of a path that connects the north and south sections of Kingsgate Park.  Three fire personnel used an axe, chain saw and ladder to stop the burning which reached about 15 feet up the tree.
