On the corner of Market and 7th Avenue, you'll find an old brick building with bright copper doors. Beyond these copper doors lies Kirkland's newest bottle shop and tasting bar, Gallery Wine. Interspersed amongst the hundreds of bottles of wine are works of art for sale by local artists. In the back you'll find a tasting room where Marcke pours a selection of regional and international wines.

Gallery Wine is owned by Marcke Lhyle, who is a Certified Specialist of Wine, Level 1 Somellier. Marcke has been working in the wine industry for 12 years, selling to restaurants and bottle shops for local wine distributors. He also worked for Franciscan Estates, out of Napa, responsible for the Northwest. Marcke has a passion for all things wine, from grape to bottle. "It has always been a dream to operate a wine shop that puts a lot of fun into the tasting and buying of wine. Gallery will give the consumer an interactive experience."

Marcke lives in Kirkland with his 2 sons, Ryan and Mason, and has been active in coaching basketball for Kirkland Boys and Girls Club and coaching baseball for Kirkland American Little League. Marcke also serves on the Board of Directors for Kirkland American.
