Urgent Water Main Repair on NE 85th Street, Traffic Delays Expected

UPDATED

Beginning at 7:00am on Tuesday, January 25, the City of Kirkland Public Works Department and Frank Coluccio Construction Company will repair a broken watermain on NE 85th Street between 122nd Avenue NE and 124th Avenue NE, in the Rose Hill Business District. The cause of the break/leak is unknown at this time and repair is expected to take approximately one week.  Traffic and water pressure impacts are expected during the repair.  The following traffic revisions will be in place:

  • Westbound travel on NE 85th Street between 124th Avenue NE and 122nd Avenue NE will be reduced to one lane.
  • Existing two westbound lanes will be closed and westbound traffic will be diverted to the middle turning lane between 122nd and 124thAvenue NE.
  • No left turn onto southbound 122nd Avenue NE during this work.

The City is notifying affected residents and businesses.  It is necessary that the water in the affected mainline be rerouted which may result in lower than normal pressure for water customers in the Highlands Neighborhood.  For more information or to obtain a vicinity map, contact Noel Hupprich, P.E. at 425-587-3829 or nhupprich@ci.kirkland.wa.us.
