The United Way Day of Volunteering on Martin Luther King Day was a success at Cotton Hill Park.  UW students from the Restoration Ecology Network joined forces with the Green Kirkland Partnership and the United Way to help clean out the blackberry bushes on the west side of the park.   The blackberry vines were not only being pulled out, but the roots were also being dug up.  It's hard work on a chilly day!

School kids of all ages, from elementary to college age, participated alongside Highlands neighbors.  Entire families turned out to help at the event.

Thanks to all who participated and to Tully's Coffee in Bridal Trails for being so generous with their coffee donation.
