A new local food bank has been established called the Woodinville Storehouse. It is located at the Woodinville Community Church and chartered to serve the needy on the north eastside in King County. It serves the residents of the cities of Kirkland, Redmond, Woodinville and unincorporated King County areas near Bothell. The food bank will also handle some personal care items and clothing. It is open for walk-ins on Tuesdays evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. Individuals must bring identification such as a lease agreement to verify residency. The food bank will accept monetary contributions for purchasing perishable items, for which they already have volunteer buyers, and they will accept donations of non-perishable goods, socks, hats, gloves and disposable razors (this list is likely to change).
At least six local church representatives met at Bear Creek Community Church in November to form the food bank. Della Haug serves as the director.
The Woodinville Storehouse is located at 17110 140th Ave, N.E. in Woodinville.
