... WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM PST THIS EVENING FOR THE PUGET SOUND REGION...

THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM PST THIS EVENING.

* SOME AFFECTED LOCATIONS... EVERETT... GOLD BAR... SEATTLE... NORTH BEND... BREMERTON... SHELTON... TACOMA... AND ENUMCLAW.

* TIMING... SNOW FLURRIES WILL CONTINUE THIS MORNING WITH SNOW AT TIMES THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EARLY EVENING HOURS.

* ACCUMULATIONS... UP TO 3 INCHES OF NEW SNOW IS LIKELY... WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS... ESPECIALLY THOSE AREAS CLOSEST TO THE CASCADE RANGE.

* WIND... NORTH WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 20 TO 30 MPH WITH LOCAL GUSTS NEAR 40 MPH MONDAY AFTERNOON AND PERSIST THROUGH MONDAY EVENING. THE COMBINATION OF THE WIND AND TEMPERATURES NEAR FREEZING WILL MAKE FOR WIND CHILL TEMPERATURES IN THE TEENS.

* IMPACT... GUSTY WINDS NEAR 40 MPH COULD RESULT IN LOCAL POWER OUTAGES... THUS CONSIDER ALTERNATE... BUT SAFE... SOURCES OF HEAT IN CASE THIS OCCURS. OTHERWISE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF EXTRA WARM CLOTHING OR BLANKETS.
