Volunteers Invited to Kirkland’s Juanita Bay Park Arbor Day Celebration

Tree planting November 13, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Green Kirkland Partnership will host the City of Kirkland’s annual Arbor Day celebration and forest restoration at Juanita Bay Park on Saturday, November 13 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Volunteers are invited to join Kirkland Mayor Joan McBride in planting a native conifer and other native trees and shrubs.  Tools, gloves and light refreshments will be provided.  The Park is located at 2201 Market Street, Kirkland. Celebrating Arbor Day is one of the several criteria established by the National Arbor Day Foundation for recognition as a Tree City USA.  It is Kirkland’s eighth consecutive year receiving its Tree City USA designation.
