Heathman Hotel Celebrates 3rd Anniversary with Hallmark Event

Nov. 13 dinner at Trellis combines the Heathmans’ top Portland and Kirkland chefs, Philippe Boulot and Brian Scheehser, with Efestē Winery

The Heathman Hotel in Kirkland is turning three, and with that milestone comes a Nov. 13 dinner featuring the cuisine of Trellis Executive Chef Brian Scheehser and James Beard Award-winning Philippe Boulot, culinary director of The Heathman Restaurant & Bar at The Heathman Hotel and Executive Chef at the Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland, Ore. The five-course affair will bring paired Washington wines from Efestē Winery and the esteemed company of its winemaker, Brennon Leighton.

This one-of-a-kind dinner, held at Trellis restaurant at 7:30 p.m. (preceded by a 6:30 p.m. reception), is $120 plus tax and gratuity per person.

Boulot won the 2001 James Beard Award for Excellence - Best Chef of the Pacific Northwest. As one of only two French Master chefs living and cooking in the Pacific Northwest, Boulot was presented the “Chevalier de l’Ordre du Merite Agricole or Knight of the Order of Agricultural Merit in July 2004 by the Ambassador of France. He was also inducted into the Association des Mâitres Cuisiniers de France and the Académie Culinaire de France, two international organizations representing the best French chefs in the world.

Trained at the Culinary Institute of America, Scheehser has brought Trellis his 30 years of culinary experience, creativity, and passion for fresh, wine country-inspired cuisine. He was featured in 2008 at the famed James Beard House in New York City as part of its "Best Hotel Chefs in America" series. Scheehser is regularly acclaimed in national and regional media; in 2010, the PBS Emmy nominated “Chefs A’Field” series featured Scheehser in “The Real Chef’s Garden.”  Scheehser will incorporate fresh produce from his own 10-acre farm for the dinner.
