Commuters should expect traffic delays September 18 through 19 due to the two-day “Kirkland’s Triathlon at Carillon Point” event. The Kirkland Triathlon will be held on Saturday, September 18 and the Kid’s Triathlon will be held on Sunday, September 19. On Saturday, Lake Washington Blvd. will be closed between Lakeview Drive and NE 62nd Street from approximately 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. Additionally, the following roads will be closed on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the final athlete completes the course at approximately 12 p.m.: BIKE Southbound lane of Lake Washington Blvd. from Kirkland Ave. to Carillon Pt. Dr. Southbound lane of Kirkland Ave. through Marina Park (Lake Shore Plaza Dr.) Southbound lane of Market St. between Waverly Way and Marina Park Eastbound lane of Waverly Way from 6th St. W to Market St. Westbound lane of NE 87th St / 7th Ave from 112th Ave NE to Market St. Southbound lane of Lakeview Dr. NE from State St. to Lake Washington Blvd.
RUN Northbound lane of Lake Washington Blvd. from NE 38th Pl. to Carillon Pt. Dr. Westbound lane of NE 38th Pl. from 108th Ave. NE to Lake Washington Blvd.
On Sunday, September 19, Lake Washington Blvd. will be closed between Lakeview Drive and NE 60th Street from approximately 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the Kid’s Triathlon. Carillon Point is accessible at all times during the weekend by entering from the south on Lake Washington Blvd.
The Kirkland Triathlon hosts over 1,500 athletes during the two-day event which includes a Kid's Triathlon, Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon. For event information, visit www.racecenter.com/kirklandtri.
