Recycling Event Success with 1 Green Planet

[nggallery id=73]

UPDATED

On Saturday, the Kirkland Congregational Church and 1 Green Planet hosted a free recycling event which netted four truckloads full of appliances, electronics, barbecues and car batteries. As one arrived at the church (106 Fifth Ave), the smiling volunteers directed traffic through their parking lot and toward an unloading area. Then the 1 Green Planet crew unloaded the items from the vehicles and sorted the enormous volume donated for recycling by Kirkland residents. As you left the parking lot, volunteers handed out fresh baked cookies. This was an excellent community event and the amount of goods sent for recycling was impressive. Thank you to all who were involved!

If you missed this free recycling event, you can visit 1 Green Planet in Issaquah and drop off any of the listed items for recycling free of charge. Please see their website for details.
