City of Kirkland seeks volunteers for summer events

As summer arrives, so do many exciting volunteer opportunities from the City of Kirkland.  Listed below are some options which are great for both teens and adults. In addition, be sure to check out the City’s volunteer website (in the “What’s New” section) for community opportunities like the 4th of July and the Kirkland Wednesday Market. Juanita Farmer's Market Special Event Assistant

The City of Kirkland Parks Department is looking for a volunteer Special Event Assistant to assist with Kirkland's Friday Night Market. This volunteer position is responsible for assisting each event day with: set up and tear down of booths, distributing market flags, posting signs, assisting vendors, answering questions and running the market booth. Must be available Fridays from Noon-8:00 p.m. June2-October 8th. Work will take place at Juanita Beach Park in Kirkland, WA. Gain valuable experience in an exciting field of work. Day Camp Assistants Needed in Kirkland!!

The City of Kirkland Parks Department is looking for volunteer Day Camp Assistants to assist with the North Kirkland and Peter Kirk Community Center’s summer camp programs. These volunteer positions are responsible for assisting recreation staff with the coordination, facilitation and on-site supervision of preschool and youth summer camp programs. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Recreation Division. Help is needed for the following camp programs:

Preschool Camp (ages 3-5) Location: North Kirkland Community Center 12421 103rd Ave NE, Kirkland, WA 98034 Dates: Monday-Thursday, June 21st-August 12th Time: 12:30-3:30 p.m.

Junior Camp (ages 5-8) Location: North Kirkland Community Center 12421 103rd Ave NE, Kirkland, WA 98034 Dates: Fridays, June 21st-August 20th Time: 10:00-4:00 p.m.

Peter Kirk Camp (ages 7-11) Location: Peter Kirk Community Center 352 Kirkland Ave, Kirkland, WA 98033 Dates: Monday-Friday, June 21st-July 2nd, July 19th-23rd, August 16th-20th Times: 8:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 12:30-5:30 p.m. This position may be shared.

Gain valuable experience in the exciting field of child and youth development. Orientation and training will occur during the first month of the volunteer work. This position will report to the Recreation Coordinator.

Theater Day Camp Assistant Needed in Kirkland!

The City of Kirkland Parks Department is looking for a volunteer Day camp to assist with the North Kirkland Community Center’s Theater Camp program for 4-6 year olds. This volunteer position is responsible for assisting recreation staff with the coordination, facilitation and on-site supervision of Theater Camp and performing other duties as assigned in support of the Recreation Division. Must be available from 9:30-12:30 p.m. for three camp sessions: June 28th-July 2nd, July 19th-23rd, and August 16th-20th. Work will take place at the North Kirkland Community Center in Kirkland, WA. Gain valuable experience in the exciting field of child development and theater. Orientation and training will occur during the first month of the volunteer work. This position will report to the Recreation Coordinator.
