Kirkland Downtown Association says THANK YOU to over 80 volunteers who gave downtown a "Clean Sweep"

With gloves and brooms in hand, over 80 volunteers from across the city came out on Saturday morning to join efforts in downtown Kirkland's annual Clean Sweep. The organized a crew of volunteers fanned out and got to work after meeting on Park Lane. Volunteers cleaned the sidewalks, sweeped the streets and basically picked up, tidied up and spruced up everything downtown.

The KDA would like to send a BIG THANK YOU to all the folks that participated in Clean Sweep on Sat morning.  We had over 80 people work for 2 1/2 hours cleaning up the downtown core.  This was the biggest turn out ever for this event.

Additional thanks go to several downtown merchants including: Starbucks and McLeod Insurance for providing the coffee and doughnuts; George's Place for providing a great lunch; and Ben and Jerry's for awesome ice cream to wrap it up.

The Heathman Hotel provided three raffle prizes which were won by presented to three volunteers.

The gratitude of many goes to those who so generously gave of their time and efforts to help support downtown in preparation for the summer season. Below is a photo showing the volume of yard waste collected during Clean Sweep.
